SUMMARY:Fuel for Thought: How PTAC Can Help You Win More Contracts
DESCRIPTION:Fuel for Thought: How PTAC Can Help You Win More Contracts\nNovember 3\, 2021\n10:30 – 11:30 AM \nLenora Leasure\, Program Manager of the JARI PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) will discuss what a PTAC is and the services available to help a business looking to bid on government contracts or work as a subcontractor. She will share how you can get assistance with tasks including: SAM Registration\, Bid Match\, solicitation support. Lenora will also talk about the process of applying for federal small business certifications (Women-owned Small Business\, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned\, HUB Zone\, 8A) and the benefits of being certified. \nThis special presentation of the Fuel For Thought learning series is on a Wednesday\, rather than our normal Thursday and it will be 60 minutes in length to allow more time for this content.  \nStay tuned for one or two special guests to join this webinar! \n  \nAbout the Presenter:\n “I’m Lenora Leasure and I serve as the JARI PTAC Program Manager\, overseeing both the JARI and SPC locations.  I have served in this position\, managing the program and counseling JARI PTAC clients\, since September 2014.  I began my PTAC career as a counselor for the Cattaraugus County (NY) PTAC in 2008\, assisting businesses with all things government contracting for 13+ years.  The JARI PTAC program service area originally included Cambria and Somserset counties and just last August expanded\, now covering Allegheny\, Armstrong\, Fayette\, Indiana and Westmoreland as well.” \n“Helping businesses navigate the red tape associated with all levels of government contracting is especially fulfilling for me.  Having been a government contractor in the past as the Office Manager for a small\, family-owned manufacturing business\, I understand where our clients are coming from and I hope I can offer them a unique perspective on the process.  Our program is not a one-size fits all approach as we know each individual has their own experiences and each business has its own needs.”  \n  \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:Fuel for Thought: Hydrogen & Carbon Capture Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Fuel for Thought: Hydrogen & Carbon Capture Opportunities\nJune 17\, 2021 | 10:30 am – 11 am EST \nThe hydrogen and carbon capture markets have recently garnered widespread attention as emerging opportunities in the United States and around the world. Hydrogen is an energy dense fuel that has a lower emission profile than other contemporary fuels. Carbon capture and utilization is being used as a way to enhance oil recovery and projects are also under way to store CO2 underground versus traditional disposal options. \nWhile these markets have tremendous environmental and economic opportunities\, there is not a lot of readily available information. We are pleased to bring 2 of the leading authorities on these subjects to our next program. Bob Schrecengost and Lynn Brickett work for the US Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy. Join us as these experts explain the hydrogen economy and the carbon capture and storage value chain. \nThere is no cost for this event. \nRegister Now \n  \nSpeakers\n\n\n\nLynn Brickett\nCarbon Capture Program Manager @Office of Fossil Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy \n \nLynn Brickett is the Carbon Capture Program Manager in the Office of Fossil Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. Her career has focused on environmental issues associated with fossil-fired power plants including: by-products\, water\, nitrogen oxides\, mercury and carbon dioxide. Ms. Brickett was previously at NETL\, working as the Carbon Capture Technology Manager\, Director of the Capture Division\, Project Manager\, and a researcher studying the environmental impacts of coal by-products. Prior to NETL\, she worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines conducting research on bio-leaching of copper ores\, bio-oxidation of gold ores\, and remediation of acid mine drainage. Ms. Brickett received her B.S. degree in Environmental Science and her M.S. degree in Environmental Science and Management. \n  \n \nBob Schrecengost\nSenior Program Manager @Advanced Energy and Hydrogen Systems Division of US Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy \n \nBob is a Senior Program Manager in the Advanced Energy and Hydrogen Systems division of DOE’s Office of Fossil Energy (FE) and is responsible for the FE Hydrogen\, Advanced Turbines and High Performance Materials programs. Mr. Schrecengost joined DOE in January 2020. Before joining DOE\, he spent 13 years as the Boiler R&D Program Manager for GE Steam Power and Alstom Power in Windsor\, CT. Mr. Schrecengost has 35 years of experience in fossil power research and technology development. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Bob is the holder of 6 patents and has over 30 publications on fossil fuel emissions reduction technologies and power plant operations. \n  \nCan’t attend the event?  Sign up to stay up-to-date on the multi-year project at shalepower.org.
