Partner Spotlight: WVU Industrial Extension

The West Virginia University’s Industrial Extension is a key partner in the Shale POWER project that provides direct technical assistance, makes connections to experts and a suite of tools to small and medium enterprises who seek Shale POWER assistance in the shale energy sector.  WVU’s Industrial Extension is also the official representative of the MEP National Network and NIST MEP in West Virginia. The MEP National Network is a unique public-private partnership that delivers comprehensive, proven solutions to U.S. manufacturers, fueling growth and advancing U.S. manufacturing.  

The WVU Industrial Extension employs an experienced team of consultants with decades of industry experience that provide one-on-one support to companies state-wide.  Services include manufacturing process improvement support, health and safety training and consulting, energy assessments, management system development and assessments, operational leadership on-boarding, strategic planning and workforce development.  The focus of these services maximizes productivity, streamlines operations, reduces cost and improves knowledge of workforce.  Services also support the development of new products, utilization of new technologies, and ability to access new national and global markets.

Combining the expertise of the Industrial Extension team with the resources of West Virginia University, the state of West Virginia, and the MEP National Network allows the WVMEP to address a broad range of issues confronting West Virginia’s manufacturing community.  For more information, visit
