November 18, 2021
10:30 – 11:30 AM

Technology, innovation, and problem solving are the foundations that has helped drive the Marcellus Shale to the leading shale play in the country. The pace of development is impacted by regulations, policies, and market conditions. The Marcellus must continually evolve to remain competitive for investments dollars that are being considered for other shale plays across the county and the world.

We are pleased to be joined by Loren Anderson, who is the Director of Technical Affairs for the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC). The MSC works with exploration and production, midstream and supply chain partners in the Appalachian Basin to ensure the natural gas is developed in a responsible manner. Loren will discuss the role of the MSC and how it partners across the Basin with academia, government, non-profits, and the private sector to help bring new technologies to market. He will discuss how his organization helps to connect key industry decision makers with regional businesses and workforce.

The Research Collaborative is a key committee of the MSC that serves to maintain an awareness of the state of innovation across the Appalachian Basin shale industry, and to serve as a conduit that not only apprises the S&T community of industry’s needs, but also informs industry of emerging technological solutions that may improve performance or enhance sustainability. Loren will highlight ways this committee provides entrepreneurs opportunities to engage with the industry through their annual Technology Showcase and partnerships with academia and beyond. Loren will share the current focus of the shale industry’s priorities as it relates to emissions, water technologies, heat loss and other industry challenges. Make sure to join us for this informative discussion and a chance to ask the expert!
