Supporting the Tri-State Shale Region
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) has partnered with nonprofit Catalyst Connection, the WV Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Ohio’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership organizations at the Ohio State University and MAGNET, and the nonprofit Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI) to launch the Shale POWER project in Pennsylvania-Ohio-West Virginia. Shale POWER provides technical assistance and business support to small and medium-sized manufacturers and testing laboratories seeking to expand business in the burgeoning shale gas and downstream manufacturing sectors of the coal-impacted, Tri-State Shale region.
Shale POWER Tri-State Counties:
The Shale POWER initiative covers 35-counties including the counties listed below.
Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland
West Virginia: Brooke, Doddridge, Hancock, Harrison, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Pleasants, Preston, Ritchie, Taylor, Tyler, Wetzel, Wood
Ohio: Belmont, Gallia, Jefferson, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Scioto, Washington
